Cabeludo advance is a small climbing shrub reaching 13-18 cm in height and produces small white flowers. It's typical of many areas of Brazil, including the region of the Amazon, as well as Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guinea: France, Guinea, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.

The chemical analysis showed that advance cabeludo contains coumarin, sesquiterpeni, flavonoli, saponins and derivatives caurenoico. The latter in particular have demonstrated antibacterial properties in vitro against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative. In addition, it contains coumarin, which summarizes the cumadina, an anticoagulant drug that has the effect of liquifying blood.

Recently this plant has been under consideration by a team of Japanese researchers who have discovered 11 new elements in the plant, four of whom have shown in vitro to be biologically active against leukemia cells.

However, so far have been conducted very little research on this plant, and virtually none of its traditional uses has been confirmed scientifically.

In folk medicine, advance cabeludo has a long history of use as a diuretic.

4th as a decongestant to remove excess mucus from the colon, the urinary tract and the lungs
5th for leukemia

Contraindications:

* Advance cabeludo is used in herbal medicine as a diuretic. Although this use has not been scientifically verified, the employment of this plant may be contraindicated for those who should avoid the use of diuretics. In addition, the prolonged and chronic use of any diuretic can cause electrolyte imbalances and minerals. Avoid prolonged use of this plant.
* Although not scientifically proven, may advance cabeludo has the properties of liquifying blood, since it contains coumarin. If you are taking anticoagulant drugs such as cumadina you should consult a doctor before taking this plant.

Interaction with drugs:

* It can enhance drug-based cumadina.
* May enhance diuretics.
